---------------------------------------------------------------------
We are lucky to have a guest blogging commentator today...Willy's dad: Andy Bolles.
Andy sums up the first 1/2 inning: McShane walks, Grad lays down a sacrifice bunt but reached second on a throwing error with McShane advancing to third. McShane scores on a Peterson fielder's choice. Grad is left stranded at third. 1-0 the good guys.
No ticket home for Grad this time
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1-0 aft 1. McShane back at short, his leg must be feeling better. After a lead off single, Marq's D knocked off the next 3 guys including a great running grab by McShane ranging deep behind second base. The only other excitement was a foul hit to the porta pottys.
Monfre's once again the other half of an effective battery
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Still 1-0 aft 1&1/2. Not much to say about that one. Tangney left stranded on second after walking. A D'amato strike out and a couple of fielder's choices for Monfre and Sanfelippo. Top of the order, McShane to lead off in the 3rd.
------------------------------------------------------------------
1-0 aft 2. Nice work by the defense including another perfect grab by McShane on a liner up the middle. Also helping the defense were Tangney on a grounder to first and Flatley knocking down a shot through the box with an easy throw to first to retire the side.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Deep shot to center by McShane for a stand-up double to start the 3rd. Grad goes down swinging on a 2-2 hook. Peterson out on a one hopper to third. McShane holds at second. McShane stranded after an inning ending infield shot by Bolles.
McShane with a hit and run-to second
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bottom of the 3rd. Flatley retires the lead off hitter with a bare handed grab on a one hopper. Watch for that play tonight on Sports Center :-).  Second out their lead off hitter grounded to second. Another grounder to 3rd by their #2 hitter--Bolles charged it and beat him with a perfect throw to first.  Side retired 1, 2, 3 on 3 infield hits.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Johnson walks to start off the 4th inning. Still 1-0. D'Amato moves Johnson to second on a perfect sacrifice bunt. A textbook Coach Wilkinson play. Tangeny called out on a very close play at first but Johnson moves to 3rd. Monfre brings home Johnson on a nicely hit single to left on a 2-2 count. The speedy Hunter Mahler pinch running for Monfre. Inning ends with a 6-3 fielder's choice on a one hopper to short by Sanfelippo. Hilltoppers get one, 2-0 aft 3&1/2.
Monfre's RBI helps the O along with his D
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Inside sources telling us Weyer is on the mend and looking forward to coming back soon. 7 day countdown?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
2 soft rollers to the right hand side and a K to end the inning 3 up-3 down.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Top of the order McShane to lead off the 4th inning. Shout out to the McShanes following the game internationally from Spain. Greetings also to the Bolles family in NYC. McShane down on an infield fly. (Sorry, Mom.)  Nice hustle to first with his knee looking great. Grad goes down on a dropped 3rd strike with a throw to 3rd. 3 away as Peterson hits a liner to left.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
As Uecker would say: "Not too late to join us here at the ballpark. A beautiful day in Sussex. No beer on tap but hot dogs, peanuts, and cold soft drinks available."
------------------------------------------------------------------
1 out in the bottom of the 5th as McShane takes a deep grounder in the hole and throws across himself to Tangeny who takes it on the hop. Second batter reaches on a weak grounder. Toppers end the inning with a 4-6-3 double play. Toppers hang on to a 2-0 lead after 5.

------------------------------------------------------------------
Bolles to lead off in the 6th- he beats out a bouncer to short with an error by the short stop. Bolles steals second. Johnson singles to center and Bolles advances to 3rd. D'Amato reaches on the 2nd error by the short stop. Bolles scores, Johnson advances to second. Coon pinch running for D'Amato. No outs, 3-0 Marq. Tangeny lays out a perfect sacrifice bunt to advance both runners. Monfre up with 1 away. Johnson scores on a wild pitch--Coon to 3rd. 4-0 Marq. Monfre hits and Coon is gunned down at home on a fielder's choice. Wilk tried to state his case to the ump to no avail. Mahler running for Monfre. Inning ends on a 6-4 grounder up the middle by Flip. 4-0 Marq halfway through the 6th. Time to get up and stretch them out.

Bottom of the 6th starts with an easy fly out to Johnson in left. Chargers #1 hitter doubles down the left field line. 2 away on an easy grounder to short, McShane looks the runner back to second and throws the batter out at first. Hamilton scores on a single shot to center by their #3 hitter-#15. Flatley fires a nasty curve ball for strike two. Next pitch: "Oooh" looked good but a ball.  Out #3 on a weakly hit grounder to short and a toss to 2nd. 4-1 Marq.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Top of the 7th--Coach Wilk says "What time is it?" It's "American Family Time"--insurance runs are the order of business for the Toppers. New pitcher for the chargers- #21. McShane leads off and reaches first on misplayed infield blooper behind the mound. Gregory and Foley both tossing in the bullpen. McShane takes second on a wild pitch. McShane advances to 3rd on a perfect sac bunt by Grad.  McShane scores on a Peterson sacrifice fly to center. 5-1 Marq. Bolles singles to center--"Atta Boy!" Inning ends with Johnson hitting into a fielder's choice--Bolles out at 2.
McShane vuelve a casa (for his folks in Spain)
A. Bolles to W. Bolles: "Atta Boy!"
(with an assumed cheer from NYC)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Flatley still on the mound for Marq for the last 1/2 inning of the game and looking strong. One out on a "Top Ten Play" by Flip at second. Chargers have a man on first with a single up the middle after a diving attempt at a stop by McShane. Hot air balloons appearing over left field--must be Marquette fans distracting the batters or out to celebrate our impending victory. Marq turns two to end the game 6-4-3.

Final 5-1 Hilltoppers, snapping a Charger's winning streak and racking up win #2 in ours. Coach Wilk's only comment after the game: "The calendar shows July, that's all that needs to be said." Join us tomorrow against the Chargers at 5:30 at MATC South or follow the game here. This blog brought to you by...Twizzlers and stale peanuts. Thank you Andy, and goodnight!
